Retropera Hotel - Special Class

We stayed in the penthouse room where the best part was definitely the views and location. The staff were not too welcoming, and the room needed some love with cleaning or fixing things. The double was two singles pushed together and the duvet wasn’t big enough for people on both sides, meaning when one of us slept in the middle, it created an uncomfortable gap! The mattress wasn’t comfy and the sheets felt cheap. The location was the best place to stay in Istanbul, perfect balance between quiet but authentic which felt very safe and was walking distance from a wide range of restaurants, shops and bars - all with character. Also as a pre-flight location with the metro being a walk away, and only costing less than £5 each.

-Arrogant owner -False room description on Agoda.. we paid to have breakfast only to find out that they don't even do it. -Poor cleanliness of the room.. our blankets were stained with blood -an instant coffee sachet in the room costs almost €2… embarrassing!

Actually, not even 1 star. The air conditioning is broken, it was like a sauna at night. The bathroom was moldy. The TV didn't work at all, the lamps were dusty and covered in insects. I wouldn't advise a family to stay there or book there. I wouldn't even advise couples. Oh, and the elevator rattles so much that you'd think there was an earthquake. We're going to another hotel the next morning. I'm going to give it to my lawyer because they're paying me back for the 3 days I didn't stay there with my family.
