Samir Hotel

Cozy hotel, excellent location, 3 minutes from the train, 4 minutes from the subway, 1 minute from the taxi stand, 15 minutes on foot from Sultanahmet, the cleaning staff was incredible, the breakfast was abundant and typical of the area, the receptionists were wonderful, the rooms were spacious, good quality mattresses, air conditioning, etc. I would like to congratulate all the staff, they offered us everything necessary to make our stay as pleasant as possible, I give it a 10, thank you.

I spent 4 days at this hotel and it was not pleasant at all, we were coming from the other part of Istanbul from a 3-star hotel, by the way, spectacular 👌. But upon arriving here, nothing like it. Upon arriving at reception, they already gave us trouble saying that we didn't have any reservation, instead of relaxing and looking for a solution since it was only updating the email, it made us nervous and he told me to speak to him in Turkish or Arabic 😵 I with my translator in English since we are from Spain. Incredible for being at a hotel reception. The room was tiny and on the second day we got LITERALLY A SMELL OF ROTTEN EGG FOR 45 MIN, the sign to say do not disturb or to clean doesn't work so they woke us up every day. I'm not coming back, not even if I were crazy. Breakfast was another challenge, only salads, for which I asked for a little oil and they don't have any, so you eat them with salt and that's it, the machine coffee that tastes like powder, nothing, nothing of meat or something to mix, only salads with yogurt, TERRIBLE.

Hotel is not sufficient. Sheets for 6 beds (2 different rooms) all need to be changed as they are all stained. The air filters are so dirty that you cannot see through them (the grid is all gray) (and this can cause respiratory illnesses, it is very serious). Hygiene is zero. Bathroom with all dirty shower tiles, with mold everywhere, the black is everywhere on those tiles and just the thought of touching them while washing makes you feel disgusted. Let’s not even talk about the breakfast buffet: plates with fingerprints on them and many dirty plates with old food on them. General cleanliness of the hotel is insufficient on all fronts. I do not recommend! Do not go!
