Envoy Otel-Izmir

This time is for Buss trip. My company reserved the hotel. Hotel neighbourhood is very good. Just in the heart of İzmir. Kızlarağası Bazaar is in walking distance. Building seems nice. Also Lobby is very nice. Relaxed white sofas, big tables. However, hotel owners must be blind about the rooms or they just get bored about this bussiness. Starting from elevator, i started to feel bad about building. The room: 1 - Keys are regular door keys. No card, electronics etc.. Several times, the doors must tried to be opened with screwdrivers etc. You can see the scars on the door. Also the bottom of the door is 2-3 cm high from the floor. The corridor light is passing under the door. 2 - Room size is very nice. maybe 4x4 or 4x5 m. 3 - Bed is nice, sheet is clean, pillows are ok. However only one pillow has cover on it. 4 - Aircon : Very noisy, you cant sleep with aircon open. Very cheap split model. And the water exhaust pipe is going a bottle in the room (Check pic). 5 - Fuses : Only three available. And one is right on the behind the mirror, unbelievable (check pic). 6 - There is ONLY ONE bulb working in the room (Check pic). Very few light. I can't even work on the table.(Check pic). 7 - Curtains are falling down (check pic) 8 - Very little tv size, i did not even turned on (check pic). 9 - There are cigarette scars at Shower floor. (check pic). 10 - The shower module not well installed or not well serviced(Check pic). 11 - There are a lot of empty holes in the toilet for nails. 12 - I look at the breakfast room and decied not to try. For sure i can not tell you, all the room is the same but to much problems in one room is enough for me to feel the rest. I have check in to hotel at 20:00 so i did not want to change just for a sleep but DO NOT STAY...

This place has terrible reviews on booking.com and if I'd booked through that website I'd be giving a bad review too, as the price there is almost double what we paid. HOWEVER, we booked at the hotel reception and after very little negotiating with the helpful friendly staff we got a room for 100 TL a night and it was definitely worth that price. It's bang in the centre of town - you basically leave the hotel and you're in Kemeraltı bazaar. We had a room away from the road and slept peacefully. The room was pretty small, but clean and comfortable enough (the bedding and towels were as clean as at home). There were a few small bottles of free water in the fridge, a kettle with a little tea and coffee, cable TV, pretty good WI-FI, some toiletries and nice towels in the bathroom. What more could you want for 100 TL a night? Breakfast? Well breakfast was included too, not the best Turkish breakfast but good enough -with tea, instant coffee, juice, cheeses, bread, a little salad, cereal and biscuits; enough to keep you going for a couple of hours. We'd stay there again. The people who work there are really friendly and helpful, which was nice.
