This is a fabulous little B&B in the best area of Selçuk. My room was clean, quiet & comfortable. Breakfast was good & the proprietor Boris was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended.

Jan '26.
I stayed for two nights. It is an old building with a gate entrance, a small courtyard with trees and shrubs, and a marquee/tent breakfast room.
The room had air con (not tested), a free standing electric radiator (not tested), chair and bedside cabinet. There was an obvious space for a desk but not there.
It is an old building so expect imperfections. To me it made it quaint and cosy. Especially with the gated entrance which is closed at night (you have a key) giving a feeling of security.
Boris was very friendly, multilingual and always happy to help.
Breakfast was a very good version of what I now know is the standard Turkish buffet breakfast.
Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Amazon Antique for three nights and had a very pleasant experience. The price is unbeatable for what you get: a clean, comfortable room with a lovely garden just outside your door.
The manager was always available—ready to answer questions, offer recommendations, or simply check in to make sure everything was going well. Breakfast was included and consistently delicious, a great way to start the day.
Although the Selçuk train station is nearby, the hill near St. John’s Basilica and the İsa Bey Mosque is quite steep. After a couple of days, we discovered an alternate route that felt easier and also led us directly to the dolmuş stop for Ephesus and Şirince. The dolmuş minibuses were cheap, reliable, and very convenient.
As for Şirince, we personally found it a bit underwhelming. Instead of the quaint village we expected, it felt more like a tourist trap. Still, it may appeal to some travelers.
The Efes Archaeological Museum in Selçuk was truly impressive. Seeing the statues and artifacts up close gave us a deeper understanding of the city in its heyday. Visiting the museum before going to Ephesus made the ruins come alive and added context to what we were seeing.
Ephesus itself was impressive, though smaller than we expected. The amphitheater was closed for renovation, and the site was quite crowded with tourists. Our hotel manager wisely suggested visiting in the late afternoon—it was cooler then, and the ruins lit by the setting sun were especially beautiful.
One tip for anyone arriving by air: taking the train from Izmir Airport to Selçuk can be confusing. Don’t make the mistake we did by buying Gise İZBAN metro cards, which cost us 350 TL for two. The metro ticket office attendant wasn’t very helpful—he could have directed us to the TCDD office instead of selling us cards we didn’t need. Instead, skip the metro ticket booth and the regular turnstiles. Walk through the open turnstiles on the right-hand side and head to the small TCDD ticket office tucked away on the far side of the waiting room—it’s easy to miss, but that’s where you get the correct train tickets.
For comfort, value, and genuine hospitality, Amazon Antique is hard to beat. It’s a great base for exploring Ephesus and the surrounding area.
