Hilton Garden Inn Kutahya

We arrived as a passenger from Germany and stayed at Hilton Hotel in Kütahya, near Afyon. There was no family room, so we had to make the bed with a seat in the room. I hit my ankle on the roof while I was trying to put my daughter down; the bottom of the bed was frozen and seriously damaging. Beds, pillows, and bedding were brought, but we had to deal with it too late at night, being tired. While we checked in late night, the price hasn’t changed. The price included breakfast was already too high, though the additional £1000 has been charged for breakfast. Hot water didn’t roll in the shower for about half an hour. There were no ear bars and essential cosmetics in the room, and no extra towels. I had the cosmetic bag rack on the wall in the bathroom; I put it back but it fell again, it was pretty old and rotten. The calories didn’t work, the room was cold. We didn’t feel safe and couldn’t sleep comfortably due to the gateway to the next room. We wanted to open the window in the morning, but it didn’t open, the room was cool. Overall, we were not satisfied - this hotel is neither Hilton nor 4 Ace.

I stayed several times at the Antalya and Afyon hilton and was very pleased to leave, not surprised here and returned home very happy. Quiet clean, just the physical structure looked a little complicated. You’re a drag from there, but it’s worth the Hilton quality.

Our check-in was late at night, and while the reception staff handled it professionally, they may have been tired which could explain the lack of enthusiasm. The overall vibe of the hotel is business-like and corporate, with subtle nods to the region’s traditional charm through the use of beautiful Kütahya-made ceramics that are dotted around the space. Our room was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. In terms of amenities, we tested the Wi-Fi, which was impressively fast, making it ideal for business or personal needs. Other facilities such as the elevator and air conditioning functioned smoothly throughout our stay. While the hotel has a fitness center, we did not visit it and cannot comment on its condition or features. We ordered room service during our stay, which included a walnut and blue cheese salad, a fruit juice drink and wine. The salad was presented well and tasted fresh. Breakfast was a standout feature of our stay. The buffet selection was diverse, offering fresh fruits, vegetables, a variety of jams and spreads and tasty hot food options such as chips, potato croquettes and börek. Guests could also enjoy live-cooked dishes prepared by the chef adding a personalized touch - we experienced this and were made some nice food by the chef. In general, the presentation of the food options in Kütahya-made ceramics was particularly endearing and enhanced the dining experience. A special mention goes to Betül, the guest relations host, who greeted us and other guests by name. Her warmth and attentiveness made the breakfast experience especially pleasant and left a lasting positive impression. While the breakfast and room comfort were highlights, the overall experience at Hilton Garden Inn in Kütahya felt average compared to other Hilton locations. The lack of an exceptional welcome or standout moments during check-in was noticeable. However, Betül's exceptional hospitality, the use of local ceramics, and the quality of the breakfast offerings are worth appreciating. Final Score: 3/5
