Forest Gate

This place is great. The staff and management are so helpful and friendly. We stayed on arrival on the late flight from stansted and arrived at 1am. It wasn’t a problem at all. The rooms are basic but clean, and the aircon works very well. The breakfast is awesome and comes served as a complete plate, including white cheese, olives, honey, melon, bread, and hard boiled eggs. The pool is lovely and peaceful, and the whole place is right on the edge of the forest. The only sound is the crickets. We liked it so much that after a week of sailing, we booked a room for the day, as we had got off the yacht at 9am and not flying until 23:40. This was fabulous and we had a lovely day, the eight of us by the pool. Highly recommended and ridiculously good value, and traditionally Turkish.

4 of us decided to stay at Forest Gate as my husband could park his motorbike there whilst we went on a Gulet cruise. We had rebooked using Love Holidays but hadn’t realised that the hotel had closed and changed hands. When we arrived the staff were falling over themselves to look after us and make sure that we were happy. The pool is beautiful, the hotel itself is well kept and attractive, the rooms are fairly basic but immaculately clean. The breakfast was wonderful....eggs, cheese, bread, filo cheese pie, jams, honey and olives! We ate in the restaurant, sitting in a garden area surrounded by pine trees and were served a very nice meal all cooked in the outdoor wood fired oven. The hotel is about 800 metres from Gocek which is not far at all, but can be a sweaty walk back in the heat...all uphill. A shuttle from the hotel would be a welcome addition I think. It is beautifully quiet too being up near the forest. But all in all, we loved our stay here and would definitely go back. We wish the new owners and staff lots of luck in the future. Oh yes one more thing...the air con is amazing!

I booked this hotel about 4 months ago through Booking.com. Today this hotel cancelled my booking saying that they had overbooked! But rooms are still available on Booking.com for the dates I booked at greatly inflated prices. I am very upset that the hotel has chosen to do this to me. It is dishonest. Beware when booking this hotel as they may cancel your booking without warning.
