We arrived at daystar about midnight and was welcomed by some lovely staff who helped us check in and with our baggage. I travelled with my friend and my 6 month old son. When we was going to our room our first thing we noticed was there was steps everywhere. So for me with a pram it wasn't easy then we were put on 3rd floor so my pram was always left downstairs and i had to carry my little one up and down the stairs which was ok but when they were wet this could be lethal. I had no cot for the first night there as they didn't know where the cot was. Then after asking twice the next day a cot arrived and to say i wouldn't put my son in it is an understatement. It was full of rust and mould on mattress and what looked like dried on blood stains. It wasn't safe as there was metal rails and my son got his foot stuck in there at one point lucky i got him out very fast. The staff here were very helpful and friendly after all this. They we're great with my son. You had to ask to get your rooms cleaned which we wouldn't have known unless another tourist told us. We ate at the hotel a few time as the food was lovely. There is free wifi in the bar area and around the one side of the pool area. Pool is large and clean. Kids pool we were the only people in there for the 19 days we were there. Couldn't fault it at all. It was about a 10 All bars and restaurants and 15 to 20 minute walk to the beach. There were restaurants and bars close by which were lovely and always had people in them. Local shops that sell essentials are a 1 minute walk. This hotel is very basic and had missing utensils and mismatched furniture but was livable. Just be wary if you struggle walking or have a wheelchair or pushchair as there isn't any access its all steps. yes the staff help you but it can be a nightmare when noone is around to help.

Myself and my partner (aged 47 and 52 respctively) arrived for a 2 week stay at 11.30pm on 23rd September 2015. We were greeted by who we came to call "Mr Bandana man" and his first words were "safety box £10 per week, air con £20 per week. Give me your passports please"
We were then shown to what must have been used as a storage room situated right next to the bar. My partner referred to it as the Kennel.
The main room was empty except for a bench running along one wall. The second room was only big enough for two single beds and a wardrobe falling to bits. The sockets were literally hanging out of the wall and the bathroom was...well....disgusting. There was a sticky back door which led onto a rickety, overgrown terrace/balcony at the back of the property.
We never even unpacked and we were both needing to unwind after our journey. We would normally have had a nightcap at the hotel but we couldnt stay there, so we sprayed the room with repellent and went in search of a coffee bar.
The next morning we surfaced after NO sleep. We discovered that the bar was open and played music until the early hours. (It seems the people who visit the Daystar rarely leave the bar area). We could even hear the owners yappy dog all night. The curtains didnt meet meaning the sun streamed in as the noise from the bar started again....about 7.00am.
I mentioned the state and the location of the room to the man on duty in the morning. He seemed nice and said we could move rooms the next day. When i went to confirm this with Mr Bandana Man he just kept saying "no. Another day. Another day. " and he got angry.
Eventually after i put on a crying act, we were given another room. IN THE ROOF.
The attic room was much better and at the other end of the hotel so quieter. It was still not good. Only one room. Disgusting bathroom. But at least the sockets were in the wall with no bare wires. Oh, and the curtains still didnt meet.
But we were lucky. Most of the DOWNSTAIRS rooms had no curtains whatsoever. And we even saw someone having to sleep on a matress on the floor.
They say they change towels every 3 days. Thats true, but only if you take the old ones down first. Plus because the measly shower flooded the floor, we could have used new towels daily.
If you make the most of the day and shower and change after 6 there will be no hot water. You need to use the shower before 4 for that.
We were there for two weeks and the bedding was not changed once. The room not cleaned once. I know i wouldnt change my bedding at home that often, but i would not be using the beach everyday and my shower works properly at home. You dont have to clean your whole body with a dribble of water.
I know this has been a long review but i want to warn people the type of place NOT to book. Basically we salvaged our holiday by only using the hotel as a place to change and sleep and kept well away from Mr Bandana Man.
We booked this holiday 13 months in advance as we thought we would be more likely to get a good room, but we were passed over for the turkish party people as it was a turkish holiday while we were there.
We still never unpacked for 2 weeks.

My only problem was with the transfers. They were advertised as a maximum of four drops, I had 1x6, 2x7 and 1x8 drop transfers in my two holidays. There were a few minor inconveniences and therefore in my opinion these apartments are more suitable for couples and singles.
