CALIFORNIA HOTEL

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I had checked other reviews before booking it so I knew what to expect from this hotel before arriving there. My room was on the 3rd floor, away from the night club noise, so I had no problem with it at all. The room was clean and spacious, bathroom was nice and the bed was comfortable. WiFi was OK in my room and the staff was polite and helpful. The only problem was that there was no safe box in my room (although there was a sign for it inside the room) and the kettle didn't work (so they replaced it with another one). Overall, I think it's a good 3-star hotel in a good location.

We went to Dubai for a short holiday and find California Hotel rate was ok with our budget. Check-in was smooth. Warm welcome with a smile by the receptionist,. Give a good room with more space, neat and clean .Free WiFi working well.Food were all in Indian style. Our stay was memorable with their live entertainment.

I visited Dubai and tried staying at California Hotel. I initially booked a for 2 people through booking.com. Upon check in, I was told I only booked for 1 person when my booking was clearly made for 2. I had to rebook and I was extra charged. That went by as I went upstairs to my room and couldn't get connected to the WhatsApp. I called Reception and was informed someone was being sent up to connect my wifi. The staff got here and said he needed to take my phone to the reception. I reluctantly gave him wondering why he needed to take my phone downstairs. Few minutes later, while the staff had my phone, the person I was with said i was active on WhatsApp. I couldn't understand how this happened since i didn't have my phone and it was with the staff who went to have it connected. The following morning, i got a security alert saying someone has logged into my whatsapp via a computer. I was alarmed and rushed downstairs to their reception. The humiliation i received from the Pakistan/Indian staff is inexplicable. They paid no attention to what I was saying and even the security guards were less concerned. They all started yelling at the top of their voices and literally ignored me. I quickly logged out of the computer through my phone and asked to see their Cctv record from the previous night. After 20 minutes of dilly dallying and trying to keep me from seeing the record, I finally went in. On the CCTV record the staff was seen manipulating my phone from the lift until he got to reception. Even after the wifi was "connected " he was seen still manipulating my phone at reception. I was alarmed as they all stood there talking in Hindi/Urdu being in denial. I dismissed the matter and went for an immediate check out. It is still alarming to me how a staff would hack into a guest's phone. Stay away from this hotel!!!
