Splendor Hotel Apartments Bur Dubai

This was a last minute booking as our other accommodation fell through. There is no pool even though when we phoned they told us they did! We stayed at the front of the hotel on the 2nd floor. We watched people pass by....interesting bunch....ladies of the night worked from a hotel close by...not this hotel! The Faruj takeaway across the road is super busy and the takeaway food is delicious!!! The mall of Emirates is a 10 minute walk away from this hotel is that was a bonus!! The hotel was clean, but not a lot around it :)

Filthy hotel with Roach infestation. If I am to rate this hotel, I would give it half a star, if any. Absolutely not a four star as mentioned when I made my reservation. Entering the hotel to check in (after midnight), I came in to a small lobby with only two chairs and one love seat for customers to sit on when using the Internet in the lobby (no in-room Internet!). I stopped at the check-in counter, and handed my passport to the staff. I then found out that there are sticky areas on the counter where my hand was resting. I told the staff, and she said "maybe somebody spilled coke or coffee on the counter" and she quickly cleaned it. I checked in and went to my room, and headed straight to the toilet (had a long flight). I opened the filthy toilet cover to find stains on the toilet. I was able to clean it off with water and paper towel, which tells me that they never cleaned the toilet after the previous tenant. While sitting on the toilet and minding my own business, I find a baby roach on the bathtub, and I squished it. A minute later, I found two more on the sink, and I squished them. Then three more roaches came from behind the bathroom door, I squished one and the other two ran out. I realized then that this hotel is infested with roaches. Sink was full of dry dtains, including the soap bar area that was full of dry soap stains. Bathtub and curtain are both filthy, and wall tiles are broken, and tub fixture is broken. Towels and sheets are filthy and disgusting. Immediately after seeing all this, I called the front desk and asked them to change my room. They upgraded me to a better room, which is a suite, and it looked a little cleaner, but same level of filthy sheets and towels, and the sink fixture is loose. I asked them for cleaner towels, and they got me two clean ones. The tub is cleaner and wall tiles are clean. Some of the drawers are missing knobs. At that point, it was around 2 am, and I was in disparate need to sleep. So I stopped checking the room and closed my eyes in hope that I don't wake up in the morning on the sound of a roach crawling up my bed. I took my needed sleep time and immediately checked out after waking up in the morning. To their credit, the room included a kitchen, a safe, large LCD TV, and the upgraded suite included a nice couch. Staff is friendly and responsive. Bottom line, if cleanliness and sanitation are important to you, I would definitely stay somewhere else.

stayed for 2 nights Saudi spring break meant prices were high everywhere for last minute bookings so I ended up with this having been booked for me. The internet doesn't work - there is NO free wifi The pool was out of action The Gym - only ion a few hrs a day No restaurant or room service Hotwater in cold water pipes! Archaic safe mechanism I was glad to move on - if you're paying more than 35£ a night for this its way over the odds in my opinion. I payed £70 a night which for a bed to sleep on with zero additional service is too steep. It's clean - and kitchen fridge and sink and bathrooms were ok. Basic but clean. No frills accommodation.
