Ivanhoe Hotel and Inn

We stayed for two nights and cannot fault this hotel. It's impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and the staff are absolutely lovely. Super cooked breakfasts and cheerful friendly staff in both restaurant and reception . The bedroom was peaceful and a super comfortable bed, excellent sleep quality. We were in room 221, very quiet.

Four of us ate in the newly extended Ivanhoe Bistro. Lovely and bright with a good menu. The four of us chose from the range of starter size and main courses. Chicken chili strips lovely. Small portions are quite big so if you’re there for lunch that might be big enough. Chicken Caesar salad main course huge. Friendly service and tasty food.

Dropped in for food and unfortunately it just wasn’t to my taste this time. The chicken thigh starter had a very odd taste and just didn’t appear fresh and the prawn main was served with a sweet chilli dip which just didn’t go well with them. Kids pizza was just awful - don’t bother doing pizza if you’re not going to make it fresh. The roast dinner was amazing and it does seem that restaurants in Northern Ireland absolutely master Irish food but get let down trying to please the masses with too many dishes. I’ll definitely be back to try again because this was just after the refurb so could be they’re getting back to where they were taste wise.
