The Hedges Hotel

I visited the Dark Hedges yesterday and was extremely disappointed by the facilities and the customer service I received. There are no public toilets available at the site, so I went to the hotel restaurant and politely asked to use the toilet. However, I was told by a driver or tour guide associated with a large tourist coach that I could only do so if I purchased a coffee. This refusal was unreasonable and particularly frustrating because I had already paid £5 for parking, and the payment appeared to have been made to the hotel. Since there were no alternative public toilet facilities available, requiring me to purchase something simply to use the toilet was unfair and inappropriate. Visitors should be treated with basic courtesy and consideration, especially when they have paid for parking and the attraction provides no public toilet facilities. I ask the hotel to clarify its policy regarding toilet access, investigate this incident, and take steps to ensure that future visitors are treated more appropriately. I look forward to receiving your response.

We were taken here whilst on a coach tour to the Dark Hedges and Giants Causeway. Hard sell by the coach driver/guide to eat here with promise of a 10% discount. Don’t fall into the trap and buy this over priced school canteen dinner. There is a cafe next door. They don’t even honour the discount voucher - please don’t kid me the discount has already been applied does it look like I was born yesterday. Avoid.

We came to see the Dark Hedges with a bus company and they offered lunch at this hotel. It was the most disguising meal I have ever paid for! It was really busy and I felt pressured to eat because I didn’t realize there was a cafe next door. I overpaid for food that resembled dog food and came from a can! So expensive! The decor was so tacky too and there were heaps of garbage around the property. Don’t stay or eat there!
