A very convenient hotel central in Oban.Overall a pleasant 3 star hotel,room was clean,the lift to bedrooms was rather outdated and very stiff door-you would really require help .Staff were friendly and if you were lucky you could park in one of their 8 spaces.

Location is brilliant and is spot on for being central to all resteraunts and the docks. The hotel has a bar and resteraunt attached so it is very convenient when you just want a quiet drink and meal. The room we had was a sea view room which was very nice. The room itself was very clean and they have a room cleaning service daily if you prefer. The hotel staff were very friendly especially the young lady in reception on an evening she was very helpful. Only negatives I can point out is the lift is a very old style lift which requires a a cage door and a metal door to be closed. On occasion there were times people had not shut the door after exiting which meant my partner had to run up and close it for me to bring it down. I have mobility issues and could not manage the stairs to the room. However reception do explain this to the guests so its not their fault so we havent marked anything from the rating for it.

We have just returned from a coach tour , so it was a group booking . We had a separate dining room and a set 3 course meal . The one waitress ( with red hair) was amazing she worked so hard and was very friendly, however the staff on at breakfast time were not , we felt we were an inconvenience to them . The food was really good but took nearly 2 hours to come out so by the time we'd finished it was too late to go out . The shelves in the dining room were dusty Our room was awful . Freezing cold , we tried putting the wall heater on but it smelt so awful we turned it straight off. Our bed was against one wall ! One of us had to climb up from the bottom to get in ! Not easy with arthritis! We could hear everything in the next room ! We had 4 coat hangers in a very small wardrobe , no space to put anything else . We came in with wet coats one day and there was no where to hang them ? We had to lie them on the floor ! There are alot of stairs and no rooms on the ground floor , the lift was tiny and very old with 2 doors to close ! I wouldn't advise anyone with walking difficulties to book this hotel. It is a real shame as the hotel looks lovely and is in a fantastic location.
