I really quickly needed a hotel for 1 night in Reading and booked Pentahotel the same day I checked-in due to a pretty discounted rate. Check-in was quick, receptionist was friendly. Room was spacious but definitely needed some renovation and refurbishment (just like the whole property, in fact). Double bad was comfy but sleeping quality was low due to busy road outside. Breakfast was included in my rate but food selection was modest. I would also recommend the others to come for breakfast earlier as there is more food to choose from. I don’t think I will choose Pentahotel Reading in the future but as a 1-night experience it was quite ok…

We stayed in the Pentahotel Reading to break up our journey from Cambridgeshire to Goodwood Festival of Speed. It was my husband's 60th birthday weekend so I paid and arranged with the hotel to place a bottle of wine in the room on our arrival for a surprise for him. Not only did they leave the wine, they had also left crisps, a box of maltesers and 4 drink tokens to spend at the bar so they went above and beyond. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming, particularly Codey who I spoke to on the phone. It was in a good location in the centre of Reading, although I wouldn't rate Reading itself as a town. The bar area and the lounges are very spacious, with darts and table tennis and big screen TVs. We didn't eat at the hotel so couldn't comment on the food but I would definitely recommend the hotel. For parking, we used the Q-Park, Chatham place. The hotel gives a code for 40% discount for pre-booking, which is a big save.

The staff at the Hotel are just fabulous, they are so friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much. It has such a fun vibe. You could spend the whole day there with all the activities and entertainment. It is unique. It offers such value for money and the breakfast is incrediable, loads of Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten free options. Isobel is brilliant efficient, entertaing and kind and works so hard. Sumit is a famtastic chef, constantly replenshing, and the food is perfectly cooked and hot. Shall be spreading the word about this hotel. The rooms were super clean and extremly functional. Equipped with everything you need. Thank you Team you are all excellant
