Very convenient for Heathrow. I arrived on the RailAir bus from Woking (good air con in this heatwave). The RailAir bus has a designated stop (called the compass Centre on the RA2 bus from Woking) just opposite this Hyatt Place Hotel. There is a pelican crossing to cross the road. However, be warned if you use this RailAir bus as the drivers have it as a designated stop but the idiot driving my bus went straight past it. There are no signs within the bus to say they are approaching this destination and the driver didn’t say a word. I had a good Ding Dong with the driver. I was lucky to be able to come back on the return trip driven by very nice lady and not the ghastly man who missed my stop, and be dropped off as the route was in reverse. It was because the bus stop for the RailAir bus is within literally one minute walk of the hotel that I chose this hotel. The other option was the hotel at terminal three that was £566 a night. Give me strength. The welcome at the Hyatt by Rochel was fine. My room extremely soul less in colour and design (grey grey grey and more grey dark and light grey) but functional. There was a big screen television, iron, one bottle of water, mini fridge, small number of UHT milk, tea and coffee. No biscuits. (I always bring my own supply off tea and coffee and UHT milk sticks). The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand wash. No moisturiser. A box of tissues. I was pleased to see a shower Mat. I can feel hotels cutting back left right and centre so soon we will just have a mat on the floor with a sheet 🤣🤣 I feel sure. The bed was very comfortable, but bouncy and something akin to a trampoline I was pleasantly surprised that the pillows were all very soft. I enjoy a soft pillow. Quite why the hotel doesn’t have a fitted mattress protector I can’t imagine. There is a topper mattress protector and a Tuck around flat sheet which escapes. Not a good idea to be able to see the mattress itself or touch it. A bit more mattress protection would be a good idea. As per usual all the room information is given on a scan QR code which I think is very unacceptable for older guests who do not have an iPhone. Hospitality television is a good idea where the guests can at least bring information up on the television screen. Hospitality talks about accessibility but the reality is it’s often missing in the most simple things. I was surprised how good the breakfast was to be quite honest. Warm welcome at the restaurant, sit where you like, usual continental available and excellent Cumberland sausages, excellent scrambled egg (unusual for a chain hotel) fresh tomatoes, mushrooms et cetera. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not enjoy the same level of air cooling as the bedrooms and it was quite warm so I escaped ASAP.
The most delightful young lady called Anita was serving and clearing tables. I think it’s so important that these hard-working young people are acknowledged so that they aspire to go onto other things in hospitality. Management, please take note. Anita is the one to watch for future responsibility.
It was £225 for a king-size room for the night. You don’t get a lot of bang for your buck these days but the air cooling in the room was magnificent. In this heat wave it was the best thing about the hotel. In fact, the room was fridge cold on arrival which was delightful. I barely had to touch the Aircon which as we know always makes a bit of a noise no matter how good it is. It really is very efficient Air con. I gather the local Hoppa bus services the hotel for transport to the airport. All in all civilised stay before my flight. As you can tell, I’ve got a couple of hours to kill before my flight and I’ll leave you to guess what I do for a living.🤣🤣👍👍
