The Emmbrook Inn

More like a tacky cafe than a pub, overpriced drinks as per usual and less people in it than you left at home!

I would not stay at the Emmbrook Inn again based on our experience. When we arrived on Friday evening, we asked the member of staff who showed us to our room what time check-out was. We were told there was "no check-out time," which we found unusual but accepted as it came directly from a member of staff. The following morning, at 10:51am, members of the cleaning staff knocked on our door and repeatedly told us that check-out was at 11:00am. We explained that we had been told the previous evening that there was no check-out time, but this was ignored and they continued repeating that we needed to leave by 11:00am. To make matters worse, a member of staff named Daisy was also rude and informed us that if we remained after 11:00am we would have to pay additional money. The way this was communicated was abrupt and unhelpful, particularly given that the confusion was caused by incorrect information provided by the hotel itself. We fully appreciate that hotels have check-out policies and would have had no issue complying had we been given the correct information from the start. However, being spoken to repeatedly in a rude manner and treated as though we were at fault for following the information we were given was unacceptable. Good customer service starts with clear communication and respectful treatment of guests. Unfortunately, this experience fell well short of that standard and left us with a very negative impression of the Emmbrook Inn.

Enjoyed a delicious massaman curry yesterday evening. It’s nice to have authentic Thai food so local. Everyone in our group commented on how nice the food was.
