A very pleasant overnight stay in a charming and well-run small hotel. Comfortable bed and decently-equipped bathroom. Good breakfast, too. Excellent communications from Julie and a cordial and welcoming atmosphere all round. WiFi in the garden rooms was not terribly strong, but this may have been a one-off router issue. The garden itself was very pretty. Easy parking, a decent gastropub (The Bell) just up the road, and an attractive wooded park nearby. An outing to Coombe Hill (c. 6 miles) is well worth it for great views (including Chequers) and many soaring red kites - magnificent birds. I'd recommend the West Lodge without hesitation.

This is the second time we have stayed at West Lodge. This time we were in the garden lodge. What a lovely setting, with the courtyard garden being just outside your room. With a cup of tea first thing sitting in garden with the flowers around you, is a great way to start the day. The breakfast as normal is well cooked and well presented. West Lodge is not your normal hotel. If you want history around you as you eat your breakfast this place is for you. Mike and his team are pleasant and professional. Thank you, hopefully we will see you soon. Jeremy Chisnall.

We had a lovely stay at West Lodge. We prefer to stay in somewhere more personal than a chain hotel. We had room 7 which was up its own little staircase and it was bright and comfortable. The ensure was absolutely fine and it made a refreshing change to have a good sized bath towel. Because they weather was so warm we had brought our own fan with us but I know the hotel have some for guests' use. The garden was super and a relaxing place to sit in the evening sunshine. Breakfast was lovely with wonderful bacon and it was good to see a jar of marmite on the breakfast buffet table! Thankyou to our hosts - we will see you again in July 😊
