The Inn at Y-Not

Very poor, filthy carpets and stale smell in corridor. Room door lock sticking, door handle hanging off. Holes in room wall, stains on room carpet and bed. Shower screen door broken. Reported to staff but nobody seems interested. I left a day early due to these issues and later emailed management. I initialy got a reply then I was ignored. I was told the main manager David would contact me and I have had zero contact. It seems this company is happy to take passing trade with no regard to cleaning or maintenance.All the staff looked uninterested. Very dissapointing as I read reviews before booking and they seemed fine, these people must have stayed in a diffrent place to me!

Comfortable room and bed. Nice meal in restaurant

June-2025 we were completing our 1,000 mile LEJOG bike trip in the U.K. and stayed at The Inn at Y-Not in Thurso. We had a great experience across the board. Most notably was the manager Chip, who was very attentive and helpful. We arrived a bit early and Chip allowed us to check in right away. He also found space in the restaurant's keg room to store our bikes. He helped its carry a few things up to our room, made dinner reservations for us and even allowed us to do some laundry. We would highly recommend The Inn at Y-Not!
