Best Western Gonville

I stayed at the Gonville Hotel for the first time, and I can honestly say I had a wonderful experience. The room was perfect, and the breakfast was lovely, with lots of options to choose from. A special thank you to Ruben, who was very professional, welcoming, and well-presented. Thank you also for giving my child the teddy bear — she absolutely loves it and sleeps with it every night! 🧸❤️ I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be coming back. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special!

Just returned from a three-night stay at the Gonville Hotel with friends and family joining us over the weekend. The hotel is ideally located, only a few minutes walk to the city centre, colleges and museums and opposite a large green space with a (unusual for Cambridge) a private car park. We were welcomed by the receptionist upon arrival who later took me on a brief tour of the bar and Gonville Kitchen where we having a birthday surprise lunch for my wife on the Sunday. Our room, large double with a patio was in the adjacent building across a small courtyard and even though there was a corporate event going on it didn't impact on our stay with excessive noise. Our room was a good size, spacious and spotlessly clean. Nice touch too, early evening turn-down service and truffle chocs. The bar area is spacious and well staffed. There was never a wait time for drinks from the friendly team. Live jazz on the Friday evening was an unexpected treat too. Breakfast buffet includes plenty of options and you could also order from the a-la-carte eggs menu. Even when our group (9 people arrived at 09:30 on Sunday morning) for breakfast to find the dining area full, the room manager quickly reacted, re-arranged tables and set everything seamlessly up in the bar. The buffet breakfast food could have been hotter (on each of our visits) - feedback to the team ... Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, would recommend the hotel to friends, family and strangers too (?!) and will hopefully return next time we're in Cambridge.

Hello, we had a wonderful stay in Cambridge, and now the Gonville Hotel has asked us to leave a review covering the categories of Location, Atmosphere, Rooms, and Value. We thoroughly enjoyed the location. The proximity to the park was beautiful, and all the shops, museums, and colleges were within easy walking distance. The atmosphere at the hotel is warm, welcoming, and very pleasant. Daniela, in particular, greeted us so warmly every morning, asked about our plans for the day, and gave us excellent recommendations that made our days even more enjoyable. We also used the hotel’s laundry service, and our clothes were returned to us in perfect condition. The cleanliness in the hotel was excellent. We really enjoyed the breakfast. We will especially miss the Egg Royal! We would be delighted to stay here again and highly recommend the Gonville Hotel.
