The Lord Byron Inn

My son and I stayed here prior to a consultation at Royal Papworth. As regular visitors I wish we’d found the Inn earlier. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with everything we needed including tea, coffee and biscuits. The instant heating systems were great. Dinner and breakfast were excellent as was the service. I had delicious Fishcakes and a full English breakfast. We’ll be back!

This gastro pub a few short miles from Cambridge city centre is an absolute gem. The very old exterior perhaps in need of a little paint might mislead as the interior holds an incredible welcome from a young but very helpful and caring team. From check in to the restaurant service they excel The rooms are based in an annex adjacent to the pub. The rooms are simple in the style of a Travelodge. In room 4 we had an enormous bed, super king size perhaps. Nice touch like quality drinking chocolate on drinks tray. Good air conditioning/ heating The food. The evening mean is from a small very tasty menu but accompanied by a number of ‘specials’ which were all superb. I chose from the specials whilst my partner had a main from the menu. Both were brilliant. We shared an incredible dessert. Breakfast was equally well served and delicious. This is a great place to stop when visiting Cambridge. Near the M11. Fantastic place. The Landlady was extremely pleasant, the food was great and the gardens and hanging baskets looked beautiful for the time of year. No dragons in sight 🤣. Well done the Byron.
