Lakeside Lodge Golf Centre

Our group has been coming to Lakeside for the past 10 years. The staff are always excellent, the food is wonderful, and the lodges are consistently clean and well-kept. However, the golf course has deteriorated significantly over the past three years, to the point that this year it was a total disgrace; • Tee boxes: Scabby, uncut, and so overgrown that it was hard to find a spot to tee your ball where the grass didn’t cover the ball. • Fairways: Completely inconsistent. Some were cut, while others had two inches of rough grass. • Bunkers: Overrun with weeds, with actual patches of grass growing inside them. • Greens: Unbelievably poor, leaving several holes virtually unplayable. The disappointing thing is that this course has so much potential if it were maintained properly. It seems the owners don’t understand that if the course is poor, they will lose business; golfers simply will not pay to stay and play if the course is shabby. Because of the condition of the course, our group has made the incredibly disappointing decision not to book for 2027. You cannot expect people to pay for a premium golfing experience only to be faced with such a poor excuse for a golf course.

Had high hopes but was drastically disappointed. Went for breakfast service was at best average Tea was served only 60% of the cup filled but only Luke warm. Sausages make the breakfast well not this time. Dry and a strange taste. Poached eggs were hard and the scrambled eggs had a load of water in the bottom so expect them to be microwaved. Bacon well overcooked and dry. Tomatoes advertised as vine tomatoes but was a couple of poorly cooked standard tomatoes. The potato rosties were hash browns in a ring shape and so dry. Single mushroom undercooked. The only thing to enjoy was the sourdough toast Definitely not worth the fuel and time getting there. So many other places to in the area with great food

Fantastic . Went bowling 7th July 2026 . Found this place to be very friendly staff excellent service.bowling alley a little dated . Only 4 lanes .But it was fun . Tuesday and Thursday they have special rates . Plenty of car parking too. Also went back 10 July 2026 for lunch . Again staff very friendly and professional. They don't start cooking until 12 .The menu is quite large so a good choice of food . They serve really good portions and we're happy to give you a box to take home what you cant eat. For that amount of food the price range is excellent. The bar restaurant area very clean and tidy cant fault it at all definitely will be back for me 10 out of 10
