only there for one night so can only rate the room and the parking. It was huge!!! standard double and it was fabulous. Very clean and spacious. Biggest bed we have ever slept in. Comfortable- very! Huge downside Almost impossible to get to in a car unless you drive through pedestrian zones (we did) no parking. you have to drive to a nearby shopping centre and walk back. (£10 a night extra)

Myself and my partner Stayed here 3 times over three years whilst in Chester. Our first time was August 2023 for a Friday night out and we enjoyed our night at the hotel. The staff were great and we felt the hotel was clean yes a bit tired in places but there was something about the place we just liked. We enjoyed a drink in the bar/lounge it was very quiet and we were surprised the restaurant wasn’t open but we had booked somewhere else anyway for a meal. Returning that night we liked the that we could get the jug provided in the room and get fresh water from the tap in the corridor. We liked the room a little old fashioned but in-keeping with place, a good working fan and we got a good nights sleep. We had realised that Chester pride was on the following day and we would miss it so decided we would do pride the following year and stay at this hotel again. We returned August 2024 for Chester pride and indeed stayed here again. We had the same experience as our previous visit at the hotel and enjoyed our stay so much so we decided to do it all again for Chester pride 2025. This stay we were unfortunately disappointed. As usual check in was fine and staff lovely. We returned once we had finished at pride early a before it ended. The room was ridiculously hot and we could not get cool however we’d had quite a bit to drink so fell asleep without noticing much about the room. We woke a few hours later to gran a shower and get something to bring back the room to eat. We started noticing a smell of sick particularly in the bathroom and as the night went on noticed how unclean the room was. The room just wasn’t great at all even having an unusable floor lamp just dumped against a wall. I then noticed under the sink in the bathroom had all dried sick under neath and down the sides. This explained the smell. The place just really seemed to go down hill. For our first two stats I’d have given 4/5 as we really liked it and for this final stay 2/5 an it only gets the two because of the nice staff and this time we had breakfast included, the breakfast room was nice and clean and although continental was quite limited the cooked brekkie was very good. For this review Ive met in the middle a given a 3. Unfortunately this last stay has really put us off ever going back and the following days we were both unwell which I put down to was had been in our room. A real shame.

Unfortunately McDonald hotels are clearly past their best and premier inn is a much better experience. Positives - reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room did have air con which worked well. Very central location. Negatives - hotel was very noisy on Saturday and the noise really did travel. Bath didn’t drain so stood in the water while showering. Children’s extra bed was a very uncomfortable small camp bed. Bar shut by 8.30 on Sunday night. Breakfast is a very basic buffet, no staff in sight throughout most of it. You need to ring a bell but took most people a while to realise that this needed multiple presses to actually light up and work. No one cleared plates throughout breakfast - young staff just seemed to hide in the kitchen. A few years since we have used this chain and we won’t be bothering to again.
