Premier Inn Crewe Central

We stayed at this premier inn at the end of September and I can definitely say we will be back . It’s nice to be greeted by a hotel manager who simply cares . We had a lovely chat .. she even went out and got us some proper coffee at her own expense . The house keeper with short spiky hair was grimly and chatty and helped my husband with the door . The young man in the restaurant who served us breakfast all three days was smiling and talkative and the food was delicious . We are already booked to comeback to visit family and to stay here again .

We had a lovely 2 night stay here, it looked like an 'older' Premier Inn from the outside but rest assured it is modern, clean and comfortable on the inside. Here are our plus points from our stay: - The staff: especially the girl on reception each time we came in our out (she also checked us in), super friendly, helpful, professional and made us feel extremely welcomed. Also, the guy in the bar - whether we bought a drink or just wanted an ice bucket, he was again really friendly, warm and welcoming and we never felt like we were an inconvenience. He gave great advice on the area too. - The room: clean, comfortable, quiet, the right temperature, enough towels and pillows, lovely bed - everything we love in a Premier Inn room. - The location: so convenient for the station and a handful of lovely restaurants within walking distance. Easy to drive to the retail park or supermarket. - The breakfast: cooked to order, everything was tasty and spot on.

I am a regular user of Premier Inns and have to say that as with most Premier Inns these days the maintenance and decorating of Crewe Central is not great but the hotel is in a reasonably quiet area with plenty of parking. The staff are very friendly and the rooms the usual Premier Inn standard with a very comfortable bed and standard bathroom facilities. Unfortunately the hotel, like most Premier Inns at the moment is beset with dining issues brought about by Premier Inns Restaurant Closure programme. The former Brocklebank Brewers Fare attached to the hotel has been closed and externally that building looks almost derelict, with new opening hours hand written on a board by the front door! The former restaurant building is still in use for "Hotel Residents Only" and with a new "Premier Inn Food" Menu. I dined at 7.30pm on a Friday evening and it was like dining in a morgue with only around 6 other customers spread around the huge dining area. On arrival, having paid in advance for a "Meal Deal", I was informed that "We have no Steaks or King Prawns available tonight" - so that significantly reduced the menu offerings I was likely to select! Pretty appalling for 7.30 on a Friday Night - at the start of a weekend! Having paid in advance I did stay to eat and felt sorry for the staff having to work in those circumstances and having to apologise for such P. Inn management shortcomings. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order and very good, but I despair at what the Whitbread Management are doing to the once very well regarded Premier Inn Brand and Reputation! If their aim is to destroy the companies reputation then this is "yet another" example of what a good job they are doing across pretty much the whole Premier Inn estate!!
