Lea Farm

A lovely weekend stay after Christmas. The property is old and tired but the welcome from the owners and the setting far outstrip that. Great value for money and we were sent on our way with a hearty breakfast. Two pubs in the village nearby serve very good food. Would definately stay here again.

Lovely peaceful surroundings and a warm welcome from Jean and Allen. My daughter and I enjoyed a nights stop over in the twin room (with shared bathroom) overlooking the garden and cattle shed. You felt like you were staying in a family home rather than a business and although some of the decor may be a bit dated it was clean and cared for. Our only problem was we found the mattresses very firm and this confuses me as other reviewers have said how comfortable the beds were - maybe it comes down to personal choice but I did struggle to sleep because of this. Breakfast in the morning was good with cereal, juice, tea/coffee, fry up and toast with a wide choice of home-made jams. One thing I think people should be warned about though is that if you book with Late Rooms they do not take a payment and the owners do not have card paying facilities, so can only take cash or cheque. Luckily I had cash on me but it could be annoying for those who don't.

Just got back from a wonderful weekend at Lea Farm , first visit to Jean and Allen's bed and breakfast. Can't stop smiling and laughing. Jean is wonderful and can't do enough for you, Allen is full of chat and stories. Don't be put off by the age of surroundings, embrace them. This was the most comfortable stay we have had for a good while. Lovely countryside to walk in. Views over the countryside fantastic. Such friendly hosts, it is top of our list for a return in that area. Thanks Jean from Des, Rose and Angie xx
