Daresbury Park

To be fair this hotel was very good for the price, we paid £340 for 4 days with breakfast, the gym and pool were excellent, especially in the heatwave we had. The food in the bar was great, generous portions, breakfast was good with a great choice, lovely coffee from a machine. There were plenty of seating areas outside, we didn’t use any because of the intense heat but they looked lovely. Staff were lovely. The only two issues were that there wasn’t air conditioning in the room but we asked for a fan, which was a good job because I think we would’ve had to have left and half the coat hangers were covered in dust but I’d still give it 5 stars because it was great value for money and we enjoyed our stay. This hotel just needs air conditioning in the rooms and maybe a bit more quality decor/ fittings in the rooms and it could charge more but it still very good and I would highly recommend it.

The hotel itself is nice and has a lot of positives, but unfortunately I have been disappointed by the lack of attention to basic cleanliness in the corridors. There has been a room service tray left outside a room near the gym since yesterday. I reported it yesterday and again this morning, but it still had not been removed. Since then, more trays have appeared along the corridor, along with glasses and a bag full of rubbish. With the hot weather, food left sitting in corridors is starting to smell, and it is unpleasant to walk past this area, especially when going to the gym and pool facilities. I made the staff aware again this morning, including at the swimming pool, so the issue had been brought to their attention. When I raised it at reception, I was told they were “extremely busy.” I understand hotels can be busy, but leaving food waste and dirty trays in corridors for such a long time is not acceptable, especially when guests have already reported it. I have photos to support this review. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as these small details make a big difference to the overall guest experience. The hotel has potential, but attention to cleanliness and responsiveness needs improvement.

Baby facilities were very good in the room. The carpark bins were overflowing with rubbish and as I'd travelled quite a way it would have been nice to get rid of some of the rubbish out of my car. Value is good but I think is because they're trying to drum up business after their previous tenants.
