ST GEORGES

Hi I called the hotel to enquire about provision for wheelchair users. I asked about lifts and accessible rooms ie grab rails around toilet , washbasin and shower along with shower seat and access for wheelchair chair. I was advised that you had a lift and accessible rooms. This proved to be totally untrue. The space available between the railings and lift entrance on the the ground floor is Totally Inadequate, it takes 5 or 6 moves to enter the lift , once in the lift I had to lift the footplate on the chair and sit legs akimbo in order to move forward enough for the doors to close. We could not get the chair into the room, my wife to move a heavy table to provide enough room for entrance. There was one grabhandle in the bathroom which is of no use to any anyone , no shower chair provided, there was a sign in the bathroom saying danger slippery floor which is useful to someone who can only walk a couple of steps. We were told we would be allocated a table in the terrace that was suitable for a wheelchair chair , we had a different table every time. After 2 days the meals were moved to the concert room, I asked how I was to navigate the stairs and was advised to use the stair lift. The receptionist obviously couldn't see the wheelchair. We were allocated a table in the terrace, it is very unsettling to be the only people in the restaurant not what I expect from a 2 star yet alone one that allegedly has 4 stars. I complained at reception twice, I don't think they understood the problem, one morning a gentleman said he would look into the problem, if he did nothing changed. Regards Bill and Lynn Myring

Really lovely hotel staff so friendly and helpful room was very nice amazing breakfast also had a evening meal for wife's birthday which was also lovely and a glass of prosecco aswell would totally recommend st George's

A lovely afternon tea at the St. George's Hotel. What could be better - lovely food with a wide selection of sandwiches and cakes and the ideal setting overlooking the promenade. Excellent service also. Llawer o ddiolch.
