Penmorvah Manor

Stayed six night . Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant was good for evening meal and breakfast. Very quiet and lacked a bit of atmosphere. But overall an excellent place just out side Falmouth . The gardens are well maintained and the sun deck is excellent for a gin and tonic with great views out to sea in the distance . Well worth a visit if you’re down in Falmouth . Friendly local staff with a smile

Such a disappointment. On the plus side the outside of the hotel is very pretty and the view from the garden is stunning but it all went down hill when we went inside. The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable but everything is looking a bit tired and need of a refurb. The staff weren’t great - quite junior and inexperienced with a knack of being where the residents aren’t - ie not very present in the dining room and bar. We did see people drop into the hotel to get a drink and promptly walk out because there was no one around - neither guests nor staff. My biggest irritation was the huge restaurant extension that has been added without any thought to making the most of the view from the garden . It’s such a shame because location wise this hotel could be stunning especially as the food was quite good in the evening- breakfast buffet though was disappointing. I would like to be more positive but for a stay in June this really wasn’t up to scratch .

What a wonderful find. The owners were very welcoming, the chef was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
