Rented a car and after one night in Stratford Upon-Avon, drove to The CROW HOW Country Guest House...it is even more beautiful than the mamangement picture. My wife and I stayed in the premier room..what a view and terrific bathroom..hot tub was perfect after day hikes. The Crow how has a wonderful history, well maintained by on-site owners (Jill and Andrew) and is a lovely stroll (3/4 mile) walk along a paved-side walk trail from the busy town of Ambleside. Great location --right along the Lake District Bus stop and route...with onsite parking, super quiet at night, great breakfast for this 8-9 room guest house. Also like the maps provided for "day-time adventuring". When we left by car, said good bye to Jill, Andrew and son Louis who gave us a route out of town along the "STRUGGLE" road ....WOW WOW WOW what a beautiful ride and view to see KirkStone pass. We highly recommend Country Crow How. Our next trip will be 3 nights min..a good base to dive deeper into the Lake Distric. Happy well rested couple from Chicago ! ! Many blessings!

Lovely stay in Room 5. Most comfortable bed in a cozy room, which became very warm during the night (even though the heating was not on), but fortunately there was a fan to cool the room which was great. Lovely sky light window and window box seat looking out onto the gardens. Fabulous bathroom with all you need. Spotlessly clean. Fridge in bedroom with ice box and complementary bottled water. Good selection of tea/coffees including decaf, sugar and sweeteners. Hot chocolate. My only concern was the small fridge being on the floor, which I found a bit difficult to get down to, due to sciatica. Maybe a small table with the fridge on top perhaps? Nice breakfasts….. cereals, fruit and cooked options. Unlimited tea/coffee. Absolutely peace and quiet which is what we wanted. Away from the hustle and bustle of towns, but close enough to walk into Ambleside if we wanted to. Lovely restaurants nearby. No lighting along the path leading from the main road to the hotel, which was very dark around 8.30/9pm but we managed with our phone torches. Tip: take small torch out with you. Loved our stay and will definitely return. Thank you.

Location is very nice and a very nice wedding venue next door. Rooms - very nice bathrooms but bedrooms are slightly outdated. Staff - for breakfast, the waitress felt she didn’t have time with us and very blunt. I had asked to charge my car while I stay as there is a plug outside but was told staff park there, they could have easily accommodated this but didn’t want to. They did very kindly clean my shirt which had a stain on. Super quiet as we had the whole building booked out
