Best Western Grasmere Red Lion Hotel

We had a wonderful 7-day stay at the Inn at Grasmere. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. As a dog-friendly hotel, it was superb. Both Dexter and Pippa were made to feel welcome throughout the hotel. There was a dedicated dog-friendly dining area, which was a great touch. They received treats every day, at every mealtime, and whenever the staff saw them. We had a lovely waiter called Manuel – nothing like the Fawlty Towers Manuel, although we did tease him about it! He couldn’t do enough for us, and we really appreciated his cheerful, smiley disposition. Paige in the restaurant and Thomas behind the bar were also amazing, always chatting with us and taking an interest in our adventures around the Lakes. Thomas went out of his way on two occasions to reserve us a table in the bar area when the dog-friendly dining area became a little too warm for comfort. We also wish Paige all the very best for her future travels. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The only thing worth mentioning is that there were no USB charging sockets, so if you didn’t have a plug adapter, you might struggle to charge your phones, watches, or other devices. The hotel’s location was excellent, making it easy to explore the local area. The food was delicious, with plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner. One thing that could be made clearer when booking is that the dinner element of the dinner, bed and breakfast package includes two courses rather than three. You can pay extra for a third course if you wish, but we found a starter and main, or a main and dessert, to be more than enough as the portions were very generous. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily stay here again. We would definitely recommend the Inn at Grasmere to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and dog-friendly place to stay.

This is a well run hotel with excellent staff who made our stay feel special. The swimming pool was a real bonus. The bed, breakfast and dinner plan was excellent for us and the food was brilliant. We would recommend this hotel for its homely feel and great location.

Well what can I say, absolute please to stay over the weekend, currently working on the Wordsworth over the road… Rooms are very spacious comfortable isn’t the word, food is amazing and not to mention the pool and sauna 💙 Thank you to Jen, Tom behold the bar, Vivian, Sophie, fernando , marchin, all the staff are so friendly and welcoming… Staying there every second weeks.. If in the area it’s a must stay
