This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are immaculate. Our first room was smaller and then we were given another room as we needed to stay on for an extra night and it was lovely and spacious. Nice old features like sash and case windows and pretty central light. So nice to have a sofa as an extra place to sit. We went in September. The rooms are cheaper mid week. Location as A plus. There’s a well stocked convenience store nearby and also a fantastic Indian restaurant. And it’s a nice walk over the river into Kendal town centre. Everything is clean. The staff are helpful, friendly and courteous. Breakfasts are awesome. Massive cooked selection including vegan. Good internet and good shower.

Stayed for one night last Saturday. Very happy with my stay. Clean and comfortable . Breakfast was very good with amazing selection. Staff were all so helpful and friendly. I have deducted one star as no on site parking but not a major problem as plenty of car parks in the vicinity for a fee of course
