Two night stay at the riverside Good location - with parking included. Also access to the sauna, gym and swimming pool Friendly staff Good buffet breakfast Spacious room overlooking the river - very comfortable bed Nice evening meal at the onsite restaurant - it was very quiet and lacked a little atmosphere but it was a quiet Monday night Only issue was the water temperature of shower which took ages to cool down which we had to report to reception - so do check water temperature before you step in

Stayed at Riverside Hotel for the first time at the weekend for 3 days and it was lovely, well definitely be back. We arrived early and just waited in the bar until our room was ready, the bar is lovely and clean and had a balcony that overlooks the river, the staff were all lovely and friendly. We went up to the room when it was ready and were very happy to see that it overlooked the river. The room had everything you need, including an iron. I used the pool and sauna the next morning, there were only a couple of people in so plenty of room for us all. The location of the hotel is perfect for a short walk up into town and a short drive to Carus Green Golf Club. We will definitely be back next year.

Perfect location for town and accessing the Lake District. Parking satisfactory and a nice welcome. Our room overlooked the river and was well-equipped and comfortable. Though the furnishing was a little worn, the room was clean and tidy. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. The restaurant serving the evening meal had a pleasing bistro atmosphere and the staff were excellent. The overpriced food was extremely disappointing. First night, the tiny dish of lasagna was poor and the second night's beef-burger had bone and gristle and was served on a dry bun with one lettuce leaf a thin slice of tomato; it was unpleasant. Wine and cocktails were very good. This was a real shame.
