We stayed for 2 nights in Room 1. The room was beautiful and had everything we could have wanted including a Nespresso coffee machine and towelling robes. The room was large and cosy and the shower room excellent. Breakfast is served in your room, you order by text the evening before, and it was tasty and warm. I was disappointed by the lack of toast but that’s a personal preference. Although the room was great the B & B itself was missing something, it seemed quite soulless. Our keys were waiting for us in an envelope in the porch and we didn’t see the owners at all, with the exception of our breakfast being delivered. There was a large sitting type room downstairs but this wasn’t heated and was uninviting. I think so much more could be made of this fabulous B & B!

We stayed here during the summer and were really impressed with the experience. Good location with off site parking. Easy check in. Good covid procedures, we felt very safe. Fantactic, well equipped room. Nice hosts. Highlight was breakfast! Served in room due to restrictions which was actually very nice. The breakast on both days was amazing. Really enjoyed stay and am looking forward to coming back.

We stayed here Friday to Sunday, to climb Skiddaw and explore the town. Stonegarth is just a few hundred yards from the main square and has its own off-street parking. The owners have developed effective Covid procedures. Check-in is remotely handled, with keys left in an envelope in the vestibule. Breakfast is ordered via text each evening for the following morning and delivered outside the room on a tray at the requested time. We found the owners flexible as to the items ordered and the portions generous - we were more than well fuelled for our hike. (The single portion of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon would have fed us both and the sausages were also highly rated.) Our en-suite room was large enough for the king-size bed, a wardrobe, dressing table and breakfast table with still plenty of room to walk around. There were the usual tea and coffee making facilities and a flat-screen TV on the wall, plus an excellent Nespresso coffee machine on the breakfast table. The room, in fact the whole building, was presented beautifully with the original (probably Victorian) features blending the more modern fabrics and equipment - very tasteful. Our hosts were friendly and easy to deal with by phone, text and in-person. A last minute request for non-dairy milk was fulfilled without demur and the invitation to leave our car in the car-park as we explored the town on Sunday morning was very welcome. We are a "mature" couple and remember much lower prices than are the norm in Keswick these days. With that in mind we thought that our stay was excellent value for money - other guesthouses were much more expensive. In summary, recommended - we would definitely stay again.
