The Royal Oak at Keswick

We were meeting up for dinner with family and friends the evening before our daughter's wedding, and chose The Royal Oak for it's central location, the attractive bar/dining area, and good food. We were delighted when Ella accepted the booking for 26 of us - many places in Keswick don't. We pre-booked the meals easily and Ella ensured we knew all was organised. We were welcomed by friendly, smiley staff who were very professional. Our food was brought promptly by very efficient staff - we were delighted by the waiters calling out our names when they brought each meal, rather than shouting what was on the plate! The food was freshly cooked and delicious. Thank you, we had a great evening!

Great location, right in the middle of town, long stay car park only couple of minutes away. Close to a number of walks, especially along the lake. Room was clean, had everything that is needed. Food was good, especially breakfast which was cooked to order. Great selection of beers as well. Staff were very helpful, even fussing over our dog with treats! Would highly recommend and will be back for another short break.

Me, my husband, mum & dog visited Keswick on Monday September 14th for my mum's 92nd birthday. We went into The Royal Oak because it was dog friendly and what a treat it was. Wow! Proper home made food from scratch. We had food from the 1-2-3 menu. £12 £15 or £18 served 12-4pm See their website. We had 1 x 2 courses 2 x 3 courses It was the best food out we've eaten for a long time. The ham hock starter was 10/10 Top class, as was the Fishcake topped with a poached egg. 1 x fish & real chips. 2 x cheese pie with greens absolutely delicious. 1 x toffee apple crumble 2 x sticky toffee pudding. Wow! Wow! Wow. I wish we didn't live 100 miles away. If you want fast food this is not the place for you. If you want good food you won't be disappointed. Ps They also have a doggy menu. And yes, its real food.
