The Pheasant Inn

Upon arrival for food we were seated and ordered drinks at the bar for six people I asked if they were bringing them over to the table I got an abrupt No so waited and took them myself then the same lady brought the table next to us all their drinks? Let that go then ordered food again at the bar they came and they were absolutely disgusting cold veg and mashed potato the lasagne was full of more veg (celery and carrots) than meat worst I’d ever tasted and it was nuclear hot as if it had been microwaved within an inch of its life! The peppercorn sauce for the steak was awful more like a gravy with thousands of peppercorns added! The chips were bland and dry the best thing was the onion rings! We would not recommend this place to anyone for food! I did mention the veg and mash was cold and I got ‘sorry about that’ have visited other Inn collection pubs and they have been lovely. This visit was shocking for what we paid! Wish we had gone somewhere else to be honest

Arrived for a walk-in lunch while exploring the area. Beautiful setting, staff were very welcoming. It was very quiet and we sat in the lounge bar on the right. The lady serving was delightful, I can't remember her name but she was so lovely and really made our day. We ordered and paid at the bar, food was served quickly. The food was all very fresh and presented beautifully. We had the crispy fish bap, a reuban, a tuna and avocado sandwich, a tomato soup and a steak and ale pie. Everything was delicious! Very, very good value for money, worked out less than £20 per head including drinks. Will definitely be back!

Came here for some dinner on our final night in the lakes. All the team were lovely and couldn’t have done enough for us. We were advised that there was going to be a large group coming in soon but that did not detract from the service we were given. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety on the menu, and the number of gluten free options available. Wish we lives closer so we could visit more- but we will 100% be back!
