We had a stop over on our way back down from Scotland having beeen recommended to visit the farm shop etc. we were so pleased that we did. The hotel was fab and the room was quirky and beautiful! We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

So disappointed. I always stay here when travelling to Scotland. The rooms are beautiful and very well appointed. Breakfast was a complete waste of money and time. I watched people walk away after waiting over half an hour for coffee. Some staff wouldn’t even acknowledge there was a problem and didn’t communicate to the kitchens. What disappoints me the most is having written twice I have never received a reply. Customer service is obviously not top priority. The hotel is wonderful but don’t bother with the breakfast. Simply walk down to the services!

Stayed here to break our journey south. We have stayed here before, usually in a standard room, but when I tried to book the only ones available were dog friendly so I booked a crafted room, don't feel the higher cost is justified really. We did have a lovely view across the hills and in the morning we could hear a cuckoo. We didn't eat there when we had breakfast once before we weren't very impressed, and we were planning to leave early so too early for breakfast anyway ( we left at 5.30 am ) The bed was very comfortable excellent quality duvet and pillows. We will probabily look at staying again as Tebay is exactly halfway to our destination on the east coast of Scotland.
