Our daughter chose Lindeth Howe for her wedding venue this week and she couldn't have chosen a better venue. Every aspect of such an important day was perfect. The staff were amazing, as was the food. Both the wedding breakfast and actual breakfast the next day were delicious. Lindeth Howe helped my family make many wonderful memories that we will treasure forever. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel.

We were very disappointed with our stay at Lindeth Howe Hotel. The hotel is in a lovely setting, but it’s worth noting that it’s around a 25-minute walk into Bowness, with no restaurants or places to eat nearby. This became a real issue because the hotel advertises that bar meals are served until 9:00 pm. When my friend and I tried to order food at around 7:00 pm, we were told the chef couldn’t cope with any more orders as there were already around 25 guests being served. We were also unable to get a meal in the restaurant. Despite being paying guests, we were left with no food options at the hotel and were simply advised by reception to walk 25 minutes into Bowness to find somewhere to eat. After a long day, this was incredibly disappointing, especially as we were hungry and had specifically chosen to stay somewhere that advertised evening food. The following morning, we raised our concerns with the manager. Unfortunately, the response amounted to little more than a brief apology, with no real explanation or attempt to make things right. It also appeared that the hotel was severely understaffed. During the evening there seemed to be only four members of staff covering the entire hotel: one chef, one barman (who was rarely behind the bar), one waiter and one receptionist. It simply didn’t seem enough to provide the level of service the hotel advertises. The hotel has potential and the surroundings are beautiful, but if you’re relying on being able to eat at the hotel in the evening, don’t assume that the advertised food service will be available. Sadly, our experience fell well below expectations.

I have just come home from Lindeth How after staying for my 27th anniversary, I can HONESTLY say, I have stayed at many hotels in different parts of the lakes, this is the best experience so far. From the moment we arrived we were treated special, this must happen to all guests, from reserving us a disabled parking space, to accommodating my coeliac/ lactose intolerant conditions and my husbands Crohn's disease, NOTHING was too much trouble, food was great, we ate in the restaurant in the evening but the bar in the day, staff was wonderful, all of them, a true pearl in the lakes, will definitely be returning, thank you Lindeth for making our anniversary so special. They even located books for me as I had forgotten to bring one, loved it
