Ruskin's

The rooms are really dated and in need of some TLC... We had an office box file holding our window open as the sash window was broken. The telly didn't work although you could borrow DVD's from the selection on the windowsill on the way up the stairs. We didn't however as we couldn't turn the telly on. The bed wasn't comfortable and the shower was hilarious. I could pee with more pressure that that shower had. In all it is a very dated old style B&B above a pub and you get what you pay for. On a more positive note however the breakfast was one of the best we've had. Couldn't fault it. Tasty and loads of it. Ideal to set you for for a days walking. The staff we're friendly and helpful and the pub had a good atmosphere. The rooms let it down unfortunately as it is a perfect location for Lake Windermere.

Everything in our room was sticky, the bathroom was clean. The view from the window was of a brick wall. The bed also creaked a lot, breakfast was ok. Wouldn't recommend this. If the price of the room was around £25 for 2 that would represent the hotel a bit better not £45 a night.

Was really disappointed with our stay. We walked into a bar that was quite tired and dated a little bit grubby to be honest. The rooms were above and they were the same. For £90 I would of expected it to be better. The whole experience was disappointing. Dirty walls and holes covered up by the beds and smelling musty I'm afraid to say that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
