Storrs Hall On The Lake (Deluxe) (I)

Just called into Storrs Hall for one drink before dinner at a local restaurant. Both my wife and I were dressed smartly, but we were refused access into the Hotel. I am informed that the hospitality industry is suffering and surely a smartly dressed couple would be welcome for one drink. I had considered booking a weekend at this location - but I won’t now. Somebody needs a lesson in hospitality and making the most of every potential sale.

Birthday Afternoon Tea We were offered 3 different locations to sit, we chose outside as it was a beautiful day , plenty of tables and shade to be found under huge umbrellas. Being a local I knew the hotel and grounds but 2 friends had never been, we were all very impressed with the service, attention to detail, food , and 10/10 view. Would definitely recommend. Thank you.

I can’t imagine many properties in the world offering the delightful combination of heritage, hospitality, comfort and luxury that Storrs Hall does. We chose to stay the suites as we found ourselves in the Lake District in the middle of the infamous heatwave of 2026 and needed a property with air conditioning. The Suites are a beautiful addition to an otherwise valuable traditional hotel. The rooms ACs bathrooms are modern, luxurious and very well equipped. The amenities were world class and I was very satisfied with their cleaning service . The grounds are gorgeously preserved and the direct access to Lake Windermere and the Hero’s Temple is a privilege. The staff in the restaurants and at the reception are helpful and friendly . The standards of hospitality are truly excellent and exactly what one would expect at a property of their stature and renown. We especially appreciated the option of having breakfast hampers delivered to the room. When we chose to have breakfast in the restaurant or on the terrace, the service was collectively efficient and the food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would happily recommend it to anyone planning a stay!
