The Great Northern

I stayed in Magna – a lovely, spacious room with a roll-top bath in the bedroom as well as a great bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, making for a perfect night’s sleep. Everything was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed, with tea and coffee available in the room. The accommodation is in a separate annex, which was really quiet yet within easy reach of the bar where breakfast was served. Breakfast itself was top quality, and as a single traveller I felt very comfortable and well looked after. A special shout-out to Dean for his excellent communication and warm welcome – thank you for a fantastic stay!

Ordered the great Northern burger, disapointed that the butter milk chicken was not, but appeared to be a commercially produced breaded chicken something, think bird's-eye budget chicken fillets, wouldn't have minded if someone had done honest....

The Great Northern is a fabulous pub with rooms a short distance from city centre. It is my go to place when staying in Derby. Friendly, professional staff and rooms always well equipped and spotlessly clean. I would recommend for business or leisure
