The City Gate Hotel

City gate is a beautiful pub/ B&B in the heart of Exeter, with helpful, welcoming staff and a stunning outside garden. My room was well equipped with lovely period features, it was quite a hot day and a fan was installed to make my stay more comfortable- a lovely touch.

We arrived to a lovely, warm welcome by 2 lovely ladies who were extremely helpful with knowledge of the area. The room was stunning, clean and very modern! We relaxed in the very deep bath before hitting the town and enjoyed the free flapjacks and Port! We missed breakfast unfortunately but enjoyed a reasonable priced lunch later on which was also delicious!! Very good value for money and would recommend!! Will be back especially for that bath!!

We held my sister’s Hen Do at City Gate Hotel and honestly, we couldn’t have picked a better place! Jon, Events Manager was so helpful and the staff & kitchen on the day (29th Aug) were absolutely brilliant. They were so friendly and helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble — everything was so well organised and ran really smoothly. The food was fantastic too. The sharing boards were great for this type of occasion— everything was really tasty, homemade and presented lovely. A massive thank you to the whole team for helping make my sister’s hen do such a brilliant day. We all had an amazing time and would 100% recommend City Gate Hotel for anyone planning a celebration.
