I stayed at the Premier Inn Plymouth City Centre (Lockyers Quay) and was very disappointed. The room had no air conditioning and reached 29°C overnight. The windows only opened a couple of inches, making it almost impossible to cool the room down or get a decent night's sleep. They have a good night sleep 'guarantee' but was told being too hot is excluded!
When I asked to move to a cooler room, the response from reception was dismissive. I was simply told that all the rooms were the same and that I should have booked a hotel with air conditioning. I had reasonably assumed that a Premier Inn would provide air conditioning, particularly in summer.
The shared areas were also grubby and felt poorly maintained, adding to the overall poor impression. Based on this experience, I won't be using Premier Inn again.
