St Mellion International Resort

Hotel is golfers paradise with a lovely pool area & gym . After that I’m afraid it lacks comfort. We booked a room which unfortunately was at the back of the hotel we tried to book a suite, but they had all gone and they are at the front overlooking the golf course our room overlooked car park. Breakfast had good choices. Nothing there to complain about lunch was very restrictive. It was a sandwich really or a burger and as for the dinner. Well one night in the brasserie was enough. The choices were abysmal. It’s such a shame because it could be really lovely we are golfers ourselves, but if you weren’t, I would advise you not to stay there. It does not have an awful lot to do our bedroom was adequate lacking I thought in small extras like a magnifying mirror decent toiletries altogether,I’m sorry to say I was disappointed. However, the hotel was full, so it certainly attracts the golfing fraternity.

A four star hotel it is not! Our room had holes in the carpet. The food and drink prices are high and the food choices for an evening meal are totally underwhelming. If you are unfortunate to have booked a few days rather than one, you will need to eat out as the menu’s prepared by the executive chef do not allow enough choice so your options are limited. The management do not respond to complaints sent to them in person by email , which adds insult to injury. If you are able to absorb things by a process of osmosis then this is right for you. On a plus, the gym and spa are exceptional, once you get to grips with endless trips to reception to get towels and your high tech wrist band to actually work. Maybe from a golfer’s perspective this place has it all, but as a hotel guest a bit less time removing the dew from the greens and a bit more time and effort on being a proper 4 star hotel would not go amiss

Appalling we booked a suite for 2 nights. We had a personal situation with family. We arrived had lunch expecting to book in at 3pm then had a phone call which meant we had to leave immediately. We understood we might still have to honour payment but explained situation to receptionist who said she would speak to her manager following morning. We have since hard nothing.
