Thus was a lovely hotel. We were in a self catering appartment even though we were serviced every day. There is a co op just down the road. The bus stop, with buses every 15 min a very few yards from the front door. The pool was a great unexpected treat and much enjoyed

A quaint hotel. We stayed for four nights. We arrived early morning. We were not given any information other than pointing us to the breakfast/restaurant area and where the pool was. Which is a very nice pool. We were quite sternly advised by the Restaurant Manager that breakfast was not included as we were early and our stay did not commence until 15.00. A place to store our cases was provided. We decided to have breakfast after our long journey it was 8.30 am so we were hungry. Again we were informed by the restaurant Manager we would need to pay for it and we said yes we are quite aware. The room was fine basic, very clean in fact cleaned each day which was nice. The cold water on the shower took a while to get to function as it was stiff. The window would not close as it was broken. There wasn't really a view as such it just looked onto plants, not the garden. There was no welcome pack with any information. The alarm clock had been set for 6am to our consternation as we would have enjoyed a lie in the next day. On our second visit to the breakfast area we were a bit later and it seemed to be full. A member of staff pointed us to the restaurant area, which we assumed was an overflow area and we were about to sit down when the Restaurant manager appeared and sternly stated we could not sit there. My friend explained that a staff member had sent us to sit there. When they appeared it transpired that a communication error had occurred and that they had been pointing to an area in the restaurant where customers were to wait to be seated. We had entered the breakfast room from the back entrance so we had not seen it nor had we been told about it. The Manager was quite loud and rude to my friend and the staff member and everyone watched and heard the altercation. We were eventually provided with a table. The breakfast was good, offering a range of choices but there was no vegetarian choice. When we finished myself and my friend spoke to the Manager in a quiet area and told her we thought she had been rude to us and certainly her staff member (who had profusely apologised). She became very defensive saying others had not complained and we could complan to reception which we chose not to do. She stated she apologised but then said she had done nothing wrong. So not an apology really. From then on throughout our stay she was polite but not as friendly as her staff group, who were lovely. I did ask for a different table to the one she offered as I am hard of hearing and find it difficult to be in the centre of a restaurant and she was fine about this and offered a suitable alternative. This incident really spoilt our stay and we would not go there again. We had requested a downstairs room via email prior to visiting as there is no lift which was accommodated. I would say the grounds are lovely and there is a bus stop outside where the buses go to St Helier.
