The Water's Edge

Don’t let the empty hotel put you off staying here (unless work has started on refurb/demolition which does not seem imminent) . The chalet was perfect, clean and well kept with lovely views across the bay. We chose not to eat out preferring to relax in the evening either on the balcony or inside with the door wide open to enjoy the sea. The area is very quiet in the mornings and evenings and the sea is lovely to swim in either from the stony shore or from the jetty. Locals regularly swim here and a pontoon has been set up for the summer. There is a cafe on the beach which serves burgers etc and seems to be good. It is handy for touring the island with a car but without a car there are buses every 2 hours or so that link in to the island bus network, You can hire both electric bikes and cars in St Helier. Jersey Zoo is near enough to walk to and the coastal path is right next to the chalets affording great views along the coast and access to other small bays if you .enjoy a good walk. I can really recommend this as a place to stay, We were very lucky to get a late cancellation and I would certainly visit again. I wish we could have stayed 2 weeks as there was lots to see and do on Jersey.

WOW what a rare find, we cannot recommend Rachael and the Water's Edge Chalet highly enough. Our chalet was spotless, well equipped down to dishwasher tabs and washing powder, hairdryers. we had a very informative manual on restaurants, cafe, shopping etc. Wonderful stay. Take a trip to mad mary's just a v. short walk awesome carrot cake and crab sarny. WONDERFUL STAY We will return. Dawn Dave and Mum.

Having a really lovely relaxing time at the chalet.Really friendly very helpful . Rachel has thought of everything you need to know about the island and has wrote it all in the welcome pack. From a map of all the local shops,with postcodes, to bus times and everything you can do on the island to keep the kids well occupied. The chalet is very clean and very comfortable. Large tv,spacious living room and very well thought out kitchen area with everything you need.. a real home from home. Very well recommended. A definite book for every year to explore the island. And for eating out and enjoying good beers and ales can definitely reccomend The Tipsey pub..as got real ales plus excellent restaurant.
