MARRIOTT HIGHCLIFF

I am extremely disappointed with my stay in Room 114 (Signature Sea View Room). The shower in the room is completely blocked and constantly floods the bathroom.I took photos of the flooding and ran downstairs to report it directly to management at reception. I then came back to my room, but absolutely nothing had been done. It is still blocked and still flooding. I even tried to unblock it myself to fix the situation, but I could not do it.I paid for a premium Signature Sea View Room, but I cannot even take a shower. The lack of action from management after reporting the issue face-to-face is completely unacceptable. Avoid this hotel if you expect working facilities and helpful staff.

A beautiful , Victorian hotel which is situated on the cliff above a gorgeous sandy beach. We had a signature sea view room which had amazing view of beach and town. However the room was small for the price we paid , which we did query with hotel to be informed all the rooms are different sizes! On the hotel information it says our room type has a sitting area but our did not - we only had one chair ! To make up for it the bed was huge and very comfy. The room was kept clean throughout our stay. The outdoor pool was another highlight , although unfortunately closed on the last day of our stay due to the temperature of the water. There was also a lovely garden space by the cottages which was very quiet for a drink. We loved the hotel so much we wanted to stay for two extra nights but the manager at first quoted us a price for this but when I asked again this was rescinded. Even though rooms were available on booking. com she would only offer us a one night extra stay. She remarked vaguely to come back later to see what she can do ….. we found this rather strange as we were at the hotel and wanted to book direct rather than through a third party. So we just stayed for the one extra night …… To sum up a lovely stay , enhanced by gorgeous weather ……. but to have a better policy in place for guests wanting to extend their stay.

A wonderful hotel in a picturesque location. Classic style in everything. Great breakfast. Very good room service. Super comfortable beds. Superior room air conditioning even in hot weather. Canonical friendly service. Of the drawbacks - not enough space in a regular room to accommodate things, and also a small bathroom. However, the luxurious beach is a stone's throw away (if you want, you can take a funicular down to it), a comfortable swimming pool for children, very clean, mesmerizing expanse and endless sea, along which in the morning a long run is a real happiness!
