Acqua Beach Hotel and Bar

Really nice place lovely bright and clean first class location. Stayed 3 nights. Room with sea view was small but really nice. Only 1 issue was a corner shower which was tiny really not big enough for comfortable use Would ask for a room with s bigger Shower next time. Maybe an extra hour for breakfast as only served from 8.30 till 9.30. As above all very nice but 4 stars because of shower. Olivetto Italian over the road great meal

Great location and amazing sea views from our room. All areas very clean and staff super friendly. Parking permit was for a car park about a 10 minute walk away, which I hadn’t understood, but it was free. Our room was snug for 3 of us and the bathroom although well appointed was very small. Mini fridge in room and unlimited complimentary bottled water were great touches as were fresh berries and avocado at breakfast! We had some intermittent problems with water pressure in the bathroom and the bedroom and dining room were warm, despite the weather not being that hot, so even with the fan provided in the room, I would have struggled to be there in one of the hot spells!

Acqua Beach benefits from an excellent location. It’s very close to Weymouth Train station and you’re able to see clear views of the beach directly across the road from the breakfast/dining room. The dining room was also a bar, which had a quirky vibe and served a variety of drinks and snacks that were good value for money. The room (#4) was a little smaller than I expected but the room decor was lovely. The room was exceptionally clean - I have seen plenty of 5 star hotels not as spotless. Our room backed onto a back road and was quiet for the majority of our stay, although both doors on our floor both slammed very loudly. There was a mini fridge in the room, complimentary water and whilst there was no air-con, a fan was provided. Good WiFi connection throughout too. There was a plug and USB charging port available on only one side of the bed which was a little inconvenient. The TV remote also didn’t work properly which was a bit irritating (when you pressed the channel up/down button, it didn’t work so you had to use the ‘guide’ button to change channel.) Breakfast was sadly disappointing in our experience and slightly soured the experience. I ordered an oat‑milk latte due to a dietary need and the staff seemed confused by the request - and then I received a standard coffee with semi-skimmed milk instead. The breakfast serving window was also restricted to 8:30am - 9:30am. While that isn’t ideal, it would be workable but the service was very slow on multiple mornings. On one occasion, it wasn’t busy when we got to the dining room but it took 20 minutes for staff to come over to take our room number / coffee order (so they can prepare the hot food you have pre-ordered the night before) then a further 20 minutes for the food to come out (just 2x poached eggs on toast). The delays made our breakfast feel very rushed, particularly as we had to check out by 10am, which also feels very early. We visited during peak season and the price was still reasonable per night. Despite the breakfast issues, the hotel’s cleanliness and fantastic location are strong positives and it remains a good option for a stay in Weymouth.
