Valentine Guest House

A friendly welcome greeted us. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Our room, no2 had double aspect Windows to front and side, so very light with a view down to the seafront. We had a kettle with tea and coffee (the most basic variety). A fridge was provided, but it was tiny, the type a teenager might have in their bedroom to hold a few chilled cans of pop. The room was clean, bathroom too. The shower was pretty good. In my opinion the room is just tired and could do with a bit of maintenance in places, for example the toilet seat needs fixing. The carpet is completely overdue replacing, it was very, very stained and a bit off-putting, which was a shame in what was a very nice room. We thought the breakfast was quite generous. You filled out your breakfast order the night before, and there were two options - A full cooked breakfast, with an option of cereal first, tea/coffee and a choice of two juice. Then option 2 was cereal, fruit and yogurt and choices of poached eggs on toast, scrambled eggs and bacon on toast, a couple of others too and drinks the same as first option. The only thing I wasnt keen on was if you chose the fruit and yogurt option, it is made up already, so you don't choose which fruit you have in your bowl and how much yogurt to top it with. I also think they could invest in a better quality bread as the cheap white bread was immediately soggy from the poached and scrambled eggs. Small observations that I thought could make a big difference. There isn't any specific parking for the guest house, but the owners can give you a visitors parking permit for the zones around the block that the guest house is in. Because we had a disabled badge, we were able to use this and easily park quite nearby. On the whole we had a really pleasant stay and the location was good. I would recommend The Valentines for a reasonably priced stay in Weymouth.

Great location, the size of the room was great & this room had a see view B&B was good but needs help with fixing things in the room. Breakfast was well cooked, but menu needs more options & to improve portion size for guests. (breakfast lacked enough variety & value for money)
