Poor Mattress Spoils an Otherwise Great Stay We had a mixed experience during our stay. On the positive side, the staff were fantastic—welcoming, attentive, and helpful throughout—and the food was truly great. Unfortunately, the room leaves a lot to be desired, primarily due to the dreadful quality of the bed. The mattress was so poor that the springs literally dig into you the moment you lie down, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. While the team and catering deserve plenty of praise, a comfortable bed is a basic necessity for any stay, so we left feeling exhausted. We hope management replaces the mattresses soon, as the hospitality itself is wonderful.

Excellent hotel, with everything you want, fully licensed bar, restaurant, breakfast, I had the full Scottish breakfast which was excellent, we stayed in chalet 2 for our overnight stay and it was to a very good standard, with everything you need, the beds were comfortable too. The staff were very welcoming and friendly 🤗

I have gone to Solway lodge for years and always loved the staff and food. Today we went for Sunday lunch and were very disappointed with the staff. We had to keep asking for our drinks. I ordered small roast lamb and got a large one. Asked waitress if it was small the answer was no she said she would only charge for small and didn't make any effort to take it away and give me small. I can't cope with lots of food on a plate. My partner wanted a second drink and had to go to the bar himself. All in all staff needs to up there game
