The Mill Forge

We were disappointed with this accommodation. It looks so lovely and charming when you arrive but is very average inside. We had to check in at the bar and it’s very much like a motel. You drive round to your room. Again the room looked very cute from the outside as it was very old-fashioned and in a garden. However, inside it was a reasonable size but very basic. There was a wardrobe and chair as you walked in then a door into the shower room or the bedroom. I can’t imagine why you would want to sit at the chair in the door. It is very much a wedding venue, but not a very upmarket one. Cleaning was not brilliant there was still confetti on the floor from the previous occupant. The bed was reasonably comfortable and there were bedside tables and a reasonable shelf. The shower was very basic and there was very little room in the room for toiletries, etc. I would imagine it’s very limiting if you are getting ready for a wedding. Breakfast was okay. Mostly self-service with hot food items to order, but the fried eggs were very overdone and I had to ask for them to be done again. We had dinner there one evening. There was a complete lack of atmosphere in the actual dining room and very few people. Then there was a wedding disco in the very next room and we could not hear ourselves speak and children were running in and out of the room. The meal was very average. For dessert, they moved us into the bar area in order to get away from the noise. This was near the end of a five week tour and it was a disappointing last but one room.

Cave here for my daughters wedding a really nice venue and lovely setting for a wedding On arrival the lady on reception was really nice and helpful Rooms were nice and clean and the cleaning staff really friendly The only bad parts for us were a couple of members of staff that were rude and abrupt Pauline who was one of the organisers was rude to a couple of our guests including myself although I let this go as not to spoil my daughters day The food was average we had a roast and it was nothing special beef was tough and a splash of gravy Considering this is a wedding venue and place to enjoy your day there is no segregation between weddings and the public which is strange We had our own music for the night and when we put it on we were told twice by another member of staff this spoilt it for me we were only a party of 20 so maybe that was the reason The wedding the night before had music on full blast and the room was full nothing said to them So if your after a wedding with atmosphere and a party this probably isn’t for you

Would avoid if you are travelling for business as they advertise Wi-Fi but it does not work.
