We stayed at this so called hotel as part of an excursion package touring through the UK. When we arrived on the tour bus we were expecting to see the hotel as shown on Tripadvisor. Instead, we were placed into the old section of the hotel, and I do mean old. The bathroom had none of the amenities shown. It was a tub shower without a good support of climbing into the tub. The sink had two faucet handles, not the shining single faucet as shown on the photos of the hotel. So, the water from the shower filled the bathroom floor because it only had a small glass partition. The old joke of having to leave the room just to change your mind came into reality. The bed was terrible as was the unkempt carpet. We had arrived late in the afternoon and so the restaurants in the town were closed. So, we thought there has to be a restaurant in the hotel. Wrong!! It was also closed. The so called bar had a very limited menu; so limited that nothing we ordered was available. It was the first time in many years we both went to bed hungry. There is no way we could ever recommend this hotel to anyone. Being a Marriott member, I was very displeased at how bad this place really is.

Room - superior king £200 plus per night is average and has uninterrupted views of the carpark. Oxygen devoid restaurant and bar - food ultra processed and pricey . Reception staff struggling with antiquated equipment - check- in was 25 minutes. Hopefully the city itself will make up for a very lack lustre start.

Usual good room and friendly service. We had breakfast and we would recommend asking for porridge to be made.
