Basic hotel which provided what I expected but please be aware of the parking charges. We were a group of 20 and at least 3 of us have been hit with £100 parking charges despite paying the required daily rate of £5 at the parking machine. I have appealed this decision and provided proof by way of payment through my bank account, however, this is not good enough apparently and they are demanding £20 or will take legal action. I couldn’t provide the actual parking ticket as I handed it over the bar for a small discount on my first drink at the hotel never thinking I would need it again. Awful experience!

Have just returned from a coach holiday based at this hotel and feel like I must add a positive review. Reading some of the previous reviews I have to admit I almost cancelled my visit but I was very glad I didn't. Yes the hotel is a bit tired and food is pretty basic as part of a package but is perfectly adequate. I have to disagree with previous reviews that suggest staff are rude as I found them hardworking and pleasant particularly the barman on the first three nights and the lovely guy that got on our coach on Monday to welcome us to the hotel. I would be keen to come back next year when hopefully a refurb has taken place as it could be an absolute gem of a place but is definitely not as bad as the many previous reviews lead you to believe

Very tired decoration and facilities. Bedsheets were clean, which is good, but under the bed was extremely dirty (I dropped something and had to look under the bed). There was a loud machine noise that shook the doors at times throughout the night, which meant it was not possbile to have a good sleep - some kind of huge air-con or heating fan apparently that whirred up and down irregularly. Staff were nice and tried to help, but if you can't have a good sleep then that's a significant problem. Value was OK however. Car park on site is very useful and well located, but you have to pay extra to use it even if you are a guest.
